Accessibility Statement

On board our hire boats

Guests are met on arrival and a trolley is available for offloading. The boat is approached along a jetty. There is limited access for people with mobility restrictions, all stairs are graduated and a hand rail provided to assist. All dogs are welcome. We have an apron at the rear of the boat. We have a strong plug in light available for guests to assist visually. The TV has teletext, subtitles and remote control. Boating instructions are given in a DVD format, booklet and one to one tuition.

This website

We want everyone to be able to use this website. We aim for it to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

You should be able to:

  • use every page with a keyboard alone, starting with a link that skips past the menu
  • zoom in up to 400% without text disappearing off the screen
  • pause the slideshows, which also stop moving if your device is set to reduce motion
  • use a screen reader: pages have headings in order, and form fields, buttons and photos are labelled

What does not work yet

  • Most photos in our boat galleries are described only by the boat's name and a number, for example "Gilbert, photo 9". We are adding better descriptions.
  • Online booking runs on a system provided by Bedful, which we do not control. If you have trouble booking, call us and we will book for you.
  • The magazine reviews on our New Boat Builds page are PDF files that may not work well with a screen reader. Ask us and we will send the text of any review.
  • Our videos are hosted on YouTube, and some have only YouTube's automatic captions.

Tell us about a problem

If something on this website is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email [email protected] or call 01283 585718. We will reply within five working days.

How we checked

This statement was prepared in September 2026. We tested every page with automated accessibility checks, on desktop and on mobile screen sizes, and checked the menus, forms, slideshows and photo viewers with a keyboard alone. We have not yet tested the website with people who use assistive technology.
